FAQs

Our mission is to keep the Igbo language alive and thriving by empowering Igbo speakers, learners, and professionals with financial aid as well as opportunities.

Our financial aid is focused on educational scholarships, one-time or recurring, to students at all levels, with the caveat that the Igbo language is an active subject/course covered within said aid. We also provide financial aid to Igbo learners with either fully paid Igbo learning access or by augmenting the cost.

No. We provide aid to people worldwide who speak and/or are learning the Igbo language. We receive donations from everywhere in the world and equally welcome volunteers regardless of what part of the world they live in.

When you donate to a specific campaign, we share details of fund disbursement as well as results at the end of each campaign. This would be shared via email, here on our website, and/or on our social media platforms. When you donate directly to the organization, we distribute the funds to our database of applicants and will share a detailed breakdown of disbursement at various intervals throughout the year. If you have an upcoming birthday, celebration, or event and would like to raise funds towards keeping the Igbo language alive, our fundraising campaign is a perfect option. You decide on the amount to raise and your preferred recipients, such as a school, village, etc. If you do not have recipients in mind, we can help direct your raised funds to specific recipients. Fund disbursement would occur after verification that recipients meet the education Igbo knowledge and/or learning criteria in line with our core mission.

For transparency, we prefer electronic payments. However, we do provide opportunities for cash and cheque (check) payments during physical events.

You will receive a receipt via email once your donation has been received.

At the end of a campaign, if you donated to a campaign. If you donated to the general fund, action would be taken within the quarter as we sponsor students and augment Igbo learning on a rolling basis.

Yes. Each donation option gives you the opportunity to donate on a recurring basis.

By going to the volunteer section of our website. You can volunteer your time for upcoming events or join our database so we can contact you when there’s an opportunity. Our volunteer opportunities could be physical, remote or hybrid. You can also volunteer resources to us and/or your expertise.

By providing your key details in the Connect section of this website. Please note that all information must be true and verifiable.

That is great. We help augment Igbo lessons and program access if needed. We can also recommend Igbo learning resources like the ‘Learn Igbo on the Go’ book, which is available on Amazon (physical), Kindle (eBook), and Audible (audiobook). For children, we recommend the Biawazo.com/vll global Igbo school and are partnered with them to provide augmented learning opportunities for kids who need it.

Yes. As long as the scholarship if for an Igbo-related course and you can provide tangible proof of Igbo learning and improvement.

Yes. As long as the program or project is Igbo language-related and has verifiable information.
